Fayetteville Fly Tie-a-thon
The Tarheel Fish and Game sporting goods store recently sponsored a "fly tie-a-thon" to benefit the March of Dimes. Anglers tied flies for 12 hours and then sold them with the proceeds going to Jerry's Kids. About 200 flies that didn't sale were donated to "Casting for Recovery."
"For 12 hours, participants worked behind vices to fashion flies for trout, bass and a variety of fish. Two-hundred flies tied at the event were donated to Casting for Recovery, a non-profit organization that provides fly-fishing retreats to women who have breast cancer."
