Patagonia - Service With A :-)

The Consumerist is a blog that typically takes companies to task for poor customer service. However, they also do the converse and say nice things about companies that really take care of their customers. Today they recounted a tale of the exceptional customer service given by purveyors of fly fishing equipment and clothing, Patagonia. A guy buys a fleece from Patagonia in 1977 and 29 years later the zipper fails and is promptly replaced by the company at no charge.

"Not only that but they requested I send the repair bill to them and they would refund my expense. I did and they did."

The customer service was legendary. The fact that a guy could keep the same fleece intact for 29 years is a posting for another day.
