Brian Stranko, the Executive Director for Cal Trout has asked anglers to contact their Senators expressing opposition to changes to the Endangered Species Act. They have even prepared a template to make it easy to send your email to your lawmaker.
Here is an excerpt from his email that gives you some idea why they are so concerned:
"But if this terrible legislation is signed into law, H.R. 3824 would allow more pesticide runoff into salmon streams, require payoffs to developers, and make voluntary many habitat protections for the 270 threatened and endangered wildlife species in California, including salmon and trout."
