to a delayed harvest trout stream near you?

According to postings on internet message boards, North Carolina Department of Wildlife Resources officers have indicated that scented baits like the one pictured here are legal for use on the state's Delayed Harvest (artificial lure, single hook only) trout streams.

Fly fishers are concerned that the soft yummy bait will be swallowed more readily by the fish leading to higher mortality on the DH streams.

We have emailed a request for comment to the NCWRC and will publish their response when we receive it.
