Miracle on water?
The next time you hear chants of USA, USA, it might be for the US Fly Fishing team. Team USA will be competing in waters near Coimbra, Portugal. Typically teams from the United States have not done well in these sort of events but this could be a break out year.
A best-ever finish is a real possibility. Coimbra is on the west edge of the Pyrenees and is home to small rivers with brown trout that are partial to dry flies, an American specialty. Currier excelled in similar conditions in Spain in 2003, which is why he was invited.
