North Carolina's free fishing day is tomorrow, July 4th. Anyone, resident or visitor to the state can fish without buying a license or trout stamp on the 4th. All other regulations such as creel, bait and size limits still apply. Free fishing makes it a great day to teach someone about the sport of fly fishing on the cheap.
