Discover Fly Fishing

The American Fly Fishing Trade Association has developed The Discover Fly Fishing program. The program is an effort to bring new anglers into the sport of fly fishing and get them exposed to the AFFTA's member companies. They have online resources as well as live events around the country. For $14.95 ($9.95 + $5.00) shipping and handling, a neophyte fly fisherman can get a "free" kit that includes an instructional DVD as well as a fly fishing text book. You can also download a coupon for a free casting lesson at one of their learning centers around the country. I think the best way to introduce new anglers to our sport would be "A River Runs Through It Part II" in which the Brad Pitt character comes back to life and runs off with Angelina Jolie.
