Found on ebay: Bull Trout

You can probably find anything on ebay. The cryptid trout above was reportedly a display at a sporting goods store and is now for sale. Buy it now price is $575 via Only-Human's ebay auction. I am thinking that this would look great mounted on the hood of my pickup.
I also think I have seen this beast before. Anybody out there know what store it came from?

ebay watch: B.F. Meek Fly Reel

This B.F. Meek No. 44 German Silver Fly Reel for the Buy it now via ebay for the price of $9,980.00.

Built entirely of German silver, the renowned raised-rim No. 44 was the company's only single action fly reel which was introduced in late 1899 and continued in limited production until 1916, when the company was sold to Horton Manufacturing Company of Bristol, Rhode Island. Described in "Classic & Antique Fly Fishing Tackle," by A.J. Campbell, page 185, "The Meek No. 44 was one of the most appealing fly reels ever built... it has sold for higher prices than either the Talbot Ben Hur or the Gayle Aluminum Trout Reel and remains one of the most coveted reels of the classic era."

B.F. Meek was a watchmaker in Kentucky in 1882 when he established his reel making shop. This reel will only appreciate over time... you will never regret your proud ownership of this most collectible gem. Hardly seen for sale, especially in this jewel-like, mint condition.

According to the seller the reel was valued at $10,000 in the 1999 edition of "Antique Fly Reels" by D.B. Homel. This has got me thinking I might just need to help my Grandmother clean out her attic.

Old Fishing Stuff

I ran across this site today and wanted to share it with the fly fishing masses. OldFishingStuff.com was created in 1999 by Phil White of Nampa, Idaho as a way to share his passion for collecting fishing tackle. The site includes news stories, articles and a monthly eBay Report that follows the pricing of collectible gear through the marketplace.

Old Fishing Stuff went on line in May of 1999. At the time there was a decided lack of on line information available for fishing tackle collectors. My vision was for a magazine type web site that provided information, not a site full of my collection, or a message board. I believe we have succeeded.

OFS is not a profit making site. It exists because of my love of fishing and collecting old fishing stuff. I hope this comes through. I have been collecting old tackle since the 1970s, and have written seven books on old fishing stuff. Sportsman's Alliance for Alaska Ebay Auctions

Scott Hed, the Director of the Sportsman's Alliance for Alaska and a leader in the fight to stop the proposed Pebble mine has announced a series of eBay auctions to raise money for the cause.

The SAA is launching a huge online fundraising auction to benefit the Bristol Bay campaign. The auction will last for at least a few months with new items being placed up for bid every few days. Each item will be open for bid for 10 days. The auction is being hosted by eBay, so the format should be familiar to a lot of people. The process to bid and buy is easy, so get ready to raise some money to help protect Bristol Bay!

This auction would not be possible without the generosity and support of so many companies in the sporting products industry. You will find fishing rods, reels, waders, other outdoor gear, artwork, and trips to some fantastic destinations in Alaska as well as Mexico, Chile, Belize, and Canada. The Sportsman’s Alliance for Alaska and the campaign to protect Bristol Bay would like to extend a very sincere thank you to all of the donors who contributed to this fundraising effort.

ebay Watch: Rainbow Trout Cremation Urn

For the angler who has everything but still can't take it with him, we have locatd this handcrafted, trout emblazoned, porcelain cremation urn.

Rainbow trout swim around this porcelain urn. The scene has been high fired after airbrushing and is a permanent part of the finish.

This 200 cubic inch urn is intended for the complete remains on one adult. It has been created by ceramic artists, David and Suzanne Enna and signed. It is 10" high and 7" in diameter. The lid lifts off and can be sealed with a hardware variety silicone sealer. It comes with felt on the bottom and a heavy plastic bag for holding the remains inside the urn. This urn meets the accepted standards of the funeral industry and is appropriate for burial or display.

Found on eBay -this Dizzy Trout basball card.

The colorful, fun-loving Trout led the AL in wins in 1943 for Detroit, but his best season was 1944, when he won 27 and led the league in ERA (2.12). He also topped the AL in shutouts (7) and hit five of his 20 career home runs while batting .271. Via Baseballlibrary.com
