I've carried a Gerber river shorty knife on my personal pontoon boat for years. On more than one occasion it has kept me out of what might have been serious trouble. The stubby serrated blade can be used to do everything from dig a hole to cut away a hopelessly stuck anchor. The lack of a sharp point and the locking plastic sheath make the knife "toon-safe."
