Personalities: Sir Ranulph Fiennes

According to an article in the Belfast Telegraph, Sir Ranulph Fiennes is planning on climbing the North Face of the Eiger even though he suffers from vertigo. He also has been named the "world's greatest living explorer" by the Guinness Book of World Records. All around he is a pretty amazing guy. However, we here at Flyfishmagazine.com like him becuase he got thrown out of the army.

He was, after all, expelled from the SAS, where he had specialised in demolition, for blowing up an ugly concrete dam built by a US film company in what is reputedly the prettiest village in England because it had blocked a rather fine trout stream.
