This week's obvious misuse of fly fishing in the media comes in a New York Times essay by Dennis Overbye, about NASA's plan to put a base on the moon.
"We science fiction fans rise to the bait again and again like dumb trout to the shiny fly — only to bounce back to Earth, and to our loneliness."
Obviously, Mr. Overybye is either a very skillful fly fisher or he needs to spend more time on the water so he can experience the occasional skunking like the rest of us.
