TSA Guidelines for Anglers
And now a word from the federal government for all you anglers planning on traveling to your fishing destination via airline. "Fishing equipment should be placed in checked baggage. Some tackle is sharp and dangerous. Expensive reels or fragile tackle such as flies should be packed in your carry-on baggage.
Rods can be carried on if the meet the size restrictions imposed by the airline that you are flying. I think we all agree with the TSA statement that: "Spear guns and spears are prohibited in carry-on luggage."
