Lightning + Fly Rod + H2O =Ouch!


The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reminds us that those 9ft long lightning rods we all fish with should never be waved about during a lightning storm. Graphite is an excellent conductor of electricity. If that is not warning enough consider this quote from the article. "The blast burned a chunk out of his scalp and knocked most of the stitches out of his hat."

...So during the thunderstorms, use that old fiberglass rod - or did you leave it home in the attic (again)?

Fiberglass...I remember fiberglass! What did I do with my old Eagle Claw 5 wt?
