Fly Fishing Reads: Fly Fishing the Southeast Coast

Our pal, Captain Gordon Churchill, has condensed his ample fly fishing knowledge into a recently published book.  If you are interested fishing this area of the world you need to get a copy of "Fly Fishing the Southeast Coast."  We see a lot of fly fishing books but we know from experience that this is one you don't want to miss.  You can pick up a copy at Amazon.com.

For each chapter, Churchill gives advice on where to find specific species of fish, from the striped bass in the southeast region of the Roanoke River to mahimahi in the Gulf Stream, forty miles off of Morehead City, North Carolina, as well as specifics on the approach of catching each species, as they’re all quite different. While full of tips and advice, Churchill makes it clear that, if ever fishing on the coast, you must be involved in a conservation effort. The environment and fish are constantly in danger, so make sure to always be aware and put your planet first!

Outdoor Retailer Show Parent Company IPO

Business must be good.   SGB Media is reporting that the company that owns the Outdoor Retailer Show, Emerald Exposition Events, Inc., is filing to go public.   The article gives you some idea of the scope of the business.

Emerald said all of its trade-show franchises are profitable and offered at least annually, and said its line of business offers diversification in a highly fragmented industry with “significant opportunities” for mergers and acquisitions.  Companywide, revenues reached $323.7 million for the year ended December 31, up 5.7 percent from $306.4 million for the year ended December 31, 2015.
